Contractors, W-9s and 1099s
Collect W-9s securely and see who needs a 1099-NEC.
Add each contractor in Contractors and 1099s. For U.S. contractors, choose Request W-9: they get a one-time secure link to upload the form. Don't collect W-9s by email; they contain a taxpayer number.
Durity totals what you paid each contractor from bank descriptions and shows who is over the 1099-NEC threshold. The threshold changed for payments from 2026; the exact amount is still being confirmed with our tax partner.
Contractors outside the U.S. give a W-8BEN instead, and don't get a 1099.
