Questions

Good to know

Why is my Delaware bill so high?

Delaware's notice uses the Authorized Shares method by default, which charges more for every block of authorized shares. Startups with millions of authorized shares often see a large figure. The Assumed Par Value Capital method is usually far lower for early companies.

When is it due?

Corporations file the annual report and pay the franchise tax by March 1, with a $50 filing fee. Missing it adds a $200 penalty plus 1.5% interest a month.

Can I see the figure first?

Yes. The free Delaware franchise tax calculator on this site compares both methods for your numbers.
